Large Oval Wood Blank

We have to tell you…this one has been a long time coming. Sally and Josie have searched for an oval wood blank for years and kept running into the same problem. There was a big gap in the market for an oval blank that felt high-quality and truly made for delicate compositions. This has been a dream product for them for quite some time, and we’re so happy to finally bring it to your craft table.

With its generous 12.7" x 15.7" scale and recessed profile, it’s built for dimension and framing—perfect for mould borders and embellished details. Create an ornate oval frame with moulds like Wreath & Swags, Faux Bois, Trimmings 1–3, Acanthus, Swags, Olive Crest, Classic Elements, Dainty Flourishes, and Primitive. Emphasize those raised details with dark wax or a touch of gilding.

For the center, choose a favorite IOD Transfer or Paint Inlay and style it as a wall plaque, a mixed media addition to your gallery wall, or add vintage brass handles to the sides to create a bespoke tray.

Small Oval Wood Blank

With its sweet 8.5” x 10.6” scale, the Small Oval Wood Gallery Blank is the little sis to our Large Oval—made for those dainty, bespoke projects. It’s built for dimension and framing, so you can create mould borders and beautiful embellished accents.

This size is especially dreamy for framing intricate mould compositions like dainty little bits from Victoriana, a delicate Sparrow’s Nest scene, or those sweet bunnies from Les Lapins for Spring. You can also feature leftover bits from a favorite IOD Transfer or Paint Inlay—perfect for a little wall plaque as a handmade gift, a layered gallery wall, or even a tabletop stand-up piece for a shelf vignette.

These wood panels are great for making custom wall decor! They are extremely smooth, and are a great base for layering Chalk Paint by Annie Sloan and any combination of IOD products! Be creative and layer stamps, transfers, and moulds to create one-of-a-kind art for your home.
